3 Thoughts on Home First Impressions
When buyers are touring your home for sale – first impressions are very important and often influence their decision before they even enter the house! Here’s three things to consider when selling your home – or on the flip side – to think about how they influence your opinion of the house you are looking at!
1 – Curb Appeal
Driving up to the house, the surrounding neighborhood and the front yard set the mood. You can’t always clean-up your neighbor’s yard…but you can make sure your house is free from weeds, trash, clutter and generally neat & tidy. A fresh coat of paint or a few fresh plants can go a long way!

2 – Front Door
The front door is the single best investment in a home – so if you have a worn out or busted front door, replace it! If that’s not in the budget or time frame, spruce it up with a coat of paint or a good cleaning. Maybe even a new door handle, porch light or address numbers to make the entry to your home the best invitation it can be!
3 – Online
The first impression happens before you even get to the house – with all the digital ways to view a house…online listings, photos, video tours, floor plans, description…a first impression is created that entices you to go see the house in person. Depending on how well done the online listing presentation is – the actual house can be a let down OR seem way better than online. One way a great Real Estate Agent brings value is by creating a story of your house with the professional listing photos, the order the photos are displayed, and the information and feel of the house conveyed in the description.
